Manager Sustainability & Social Responsibility

Responsible for coordinating diversity, socially responsible sourcing, and engagement of historically underutilized businesses. Additionally, engages SSM Health leaders and associates to promote stewardship of environmental resources and practices that support the overall organization.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Communicates status of position related progress and timelines.
  • Resolves issues that jeopardize the success of the assigned area. Is an ambassador that coordinates programs for socially responsible sourcing efforts and environmental stewardship.
  • Develops and leads efforts to engage historically underutilized businesses in SSM Health’s strategic sourcing process.
  • Engages other SSM Health resources to identify opportunities for SSM Health to be better stewards of our resources through finding ways to reduce our carbon footprint, improve energy efficiency, create more green processes, repurposing, and recycling as appropriate.
  • Monitors and reports to Leadership the efforts of SSM Health to make progress in the areas of diversity and environmental stewardship.
  • Works closely with SSM Health Facilities and Real Estate team to establish/measure goals for waste and energy reduction goals throughout SSM Health.
  • Create and deliver training for Supplier Diversity and Environmental Sustainability, leveraging both internal and external best-practices.
  • Identify and partner with diversity "champions" within the various SSM Health markets to ensure company-wide awareness, support and mutual investment in SSM Health’s diversity spend goals.
  • In conjunction with market leaders, develop and maintain strong partnerships with external advocacy and community organizations that promote, supports, and provide access to qualified diverse suppliers.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent combination of experience and education

EXPERIENCE

  • Eight years’ experience in resource and supply management, negotiation, operations, change management or cross organizational/cross functional programs and services
