The Registered Nurse, Patient Rooming, performs as aprofessional nurse in the areas of total patient care and education in anambulatory setting. This position mustbe able to work as part of a team and perform both clinical and administrativeduties. Clinical duties may includetaking and recording vital signs and medical histories, preparing patients forexamination/procedure, sterilization of medical instruments and administeringmedications. Administrative duties mayinclude scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records and filling outinsurance forms/paperwork.



1. State Licensure or eligiblefor State Licensure as a Registered Nurse.

2. Must complete and pass the Proficiency Assessmentdelivered at the conclusion of the onboarding program.

3. Ability to adapt to avariety of situations and specialties.

4. Strong communication skills.

5. Ability to travel to other locations.


1. Experience in a healthcaresetting.

  6. Ability to bend/twist and crouch when performing various job tasks.
  7. Ability to work with and to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment when working with blood borne pathogens or other chemicals.
  8. Ability to wear a respirator/mask.


1. Manages patient flow and performs patient rooming standards.

2. Will receive orientation and staff various departments and cliniclocations to ensure proper coverage.

3. Utilizes the nursing process: assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation in all patientencounters.

4. Performs nursing procedures.

5. Assists medical provider with processing of diagnostic results bringing significantvalues to the provider's attention. Haveknowledge of tests and procedures and their significance as related to patientcare.

6. Administers medication by all routes. Demonstrates and understands administration techniques. Recognizes the implementation of dosages,interactions, side effects, adverse effects, routes of administration of drugsas they apply to individual patients. Uses knowledge of medications in instructing patients about medicationtherapy.

7. May triage/screen telephone calls related to patient care.

    1. Obtains appropriate information with attention to detail and accuracy (i.e. using direct symptom related questions – keeping patient focused.)
    2. Makes nursing assessment utilizing, theory and judgment, and patient information.
    3. Implements appropriate care using nursing assessment, protocols, and standing orders.

8. Performs delegated medical acts and provides supervision as needed inaccordance with the Nurse Practice Act to the LPNs and unlicensed personnel.

9. Assesses patient status to determine need for treatment or interventionin life threatening situations. Participates using emergency standing orders if needed, or under thedirect supervision of a medical provider.

10. Establishes and reinforces teachingprotocols for patient education, family counseling and general publicinformation.

11. Participates in site processand policy improvement teams.

12. Assists in the developmentand implementation of policies, protocols, standing orders and qualityassurance standards.

13. Performs other duties asneeded.
